work and trivia
Work went alright, i talked to bosses, seem like i'm ok with them, i just gotta really be careful now not to do that again. Other than an odd schedule i'll have this week, tis about all to worry about.

And trivia: A firefighter, a police officer and a mailman are all trying to directing traffic, Who do you obey?

police officer?

The letter carrier wouldn't direct traffic and the firefighter would be too busy to do that.

right, but if they were all doing so, who would you need to listen to? not a trick question

you listen to the cop. The letter carrier would not be authorized by postal management to do such a task. The letter carrier's job is to see that the mail [and parcels/packages] are moved in a timely, safe manner. Traffic control is not part of the job description.

Firefighters - I have yet to see one direct traffic other than to maneuver around parked cars to move their own vehicles.

Interesting - around here Firefighters are usually called out to handle traffic 'cause the cops can't be bothered with it.

Oh, and the answer to the question depends on who has incident command - in general at a fire scene, the firefighter has more authority then the police officer.

Well i want to say the cop cause he has a gun, legally i think it would be the Mailman.. as they are a federal government employ.
But on the on the other hand they would be acting out side there position so its hard to say.

I do know that a Mail truck has right of way over a fire engine or cop car for the same reason. It is a Feral government vehicle

The letter carrier should not be directing traffic while they are on duty. This would violate union rules and possibly put them in conflict with safety regulations as well. So if a letter carrier is directing traffic they would be doing so in an unofficial capacity and as such not a federal government employee.

Otherwise, since I'm a federal government employee for the postal service does that mean I get to direct traffic if I want :)

I'm actually unsure between the other two. However, I would say it's probably the police officer, since traffic safety and regulation falls under police jurisdiction.

I would be tempted to direct them into a parking lot and then lock the gate!! >:)

I'll make you an alarm clock that has electrodes you attach to one hand. I think a few short kilovolt pulses at very low current will get you out of bed. ;-)

Usually it's an officer seen directing traffic. I've never seen either of the other two directing. That, and they usually carry a firearm, so don't tick them off.

Then again, there's a group of firemen I know of that are usually armed as well.

If I remember right, it's the mailman. The same also applies to a Mail truck as opposed to a fire truck or police car.

Yes however, Police office is an employ of local government, Mail carriers work directly for the federal government. Feds technically take priority.

Glad everything ended up okay. You seem like a good worker, I wouldn't think they'd be too hard on you. Stuff like that happens to everyone.

...I would follow the police man. >.< He has a studly uniform, and a gun, and a taser maybe, and he's the one I get in trouble with usually when I do bad things on the road.
